Born in Chattanooga, TN July 30, 1940
Currently serves as preacher and elder of the Lithia Springs Church of Christ.

In 2014 selected as Honorary Alumnus of Memphis School of Preaching
Married Janet Kinnaird of Detroit, MI (Celebrated 50th wedding anniversary in 2011).
Two children: James Larry Acuff, Jr and April Denise Adams and Five Grandchildren
Began preaching at the Woodland Heights Church of Christ in 1962. In December of 2016 will have completed 53 years of local preaching and only missed three Sundays because of illness.Conducts 8-10 gospel meetings each year and speaks on several lectureships every year.
