About me
Tom Childers was born at Finger, Mississippi and has been preaching since 1966. He holds four degrees from Freed-Hardeman (A.A., Third Year Certificate, B.A. In Bible, and Master of Ministry). He is a preacher and one of the elders of the Finger church of Christ in Finger, Tennessee. Since 1980, Tom has been involved in computer technology. For over twenty-five years, he taught “Computers for Church Workers” at the Freed-Hardeman annual Bible lectureship. For three years, he was an instructor at FHU teaching, “Technology for Ministry.” The 2020 FHU lectureship book marked his 27th year and last year in which he has done the page layout of the lectureship book. Tom was married to Carole Day Childers for almost 56 years, when she died in 2020. They have three children, and seven grandchildren, ages 31 years to nine, and three great-grandchildren. On November 12, 2023, Tom married Susan Sain in chapel hall at Old Main, FHU campus.
